Mullion & Constantine group practice would like to inform patients that we are unable to provide medical certificates or assessments confirming fitness to participate in extreme sports such as scuba diving, skydiving, parachuting, marathons, bungee jumping, and similar activities.
Why Are We Unable to Provide This Service?
These assessments fall outside the scope of General Practitioners’ NHS terms and conditions. Our GPs are not covered by the medical indemnity required to perform this type of work, as it is not included under the NHS clinical negligence scheme for General Practice. This creates legal and professional risks that we are unable to assume.
What Should You Do Instead?
If you require a certificate for participation in extreme sports, we recommend contacting a Private Medical Provider who is qualified to offer these assessments and issue the necessary documentation.
For specific requirements or further guidance, please consult the event organiser or relevant authority.
Accessing Your Medical Records
If a private provider or organisation needs access to your medical history, you can access your records via the NHS App.
