Post Hospital Admissions & Clinic Results
Each day the surgery receives an enormous amount of hospital letters and results, electronically from the laboratories and postal delivery via the NHS hospital internal courier service. All this information is sorted and then electronically scanned into your computerised medical notes. We aim to have each patient letter/result entered into the medical notes on the same day of receipt into the surgery, all entries are then flagged for the relevant GP's attention.
Of course we have to wait for the Hospital Consultant to dictate and the secretary to type the letter regarding your hospital visit - for this reason, test results carried out in hospital and Consultant clinic or in-patient stay letters may take longer to reach your notes than those carried out in your local surgery. So please allow a little longer for this information to reach us.
