Mullion & Constantine Group Practice

PRACTICE NURSES

Our Practice Nurses are based at Mullion & Constantine.  In addition to providing a full range of nursing procedures, they can give advice on all aspects of general healthcare.  In conjunction with the Doctors they also provide clinics including ‘well person’ screening, cervical smears, blood pressure and cholesterol tests, diabetes, asthma, menopausal counselling and help with stopping smoking. A Nurse/Phlebotomist is also in attendance in the mornings to take blood for testing upon the Doctors request.  Appointments with the Practice Nurses are made in the same way as the Doctors via the reception staff.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

We have a Nurse Practioner who holds regular surgeries seeing mainly patients with acute problems. She is fully qualified to diagnose and dispense medication. 

HEALTH VISITOR & DISTRICT NURSES

The Practice has attached Health Visitors who have special training in the prevention of illness and in particular the development of children under school age.  The District Nurses provide help for people who need general nursing care at home.  They and the Health Visitors are based at Mullion & Constantine. COUNSELLING
 
There are fully trained Counsellors who attend Mullion & Constanine surgeries to help patients coping with addiction, bereavement, stress and other emotional problems – An appointment with your Doctor is required before a referral to a Counsellor

ACUPUNCTURE

One of the Doctors has an interest in the use of Acupuncture in medicine and is a member of the British Acupuncture Society

BUTEYKO

One of the Doctors has an interest in the “Buteyko” method of breathing for helping Asthma sufferers – ask the receptionists for details for this and Acupuncture

CHILD HEALTH CLINICS

We offer a comprehensive scheme of child health checks with the Doctor and the Health Visitor.  All children under the age of 5 are eligible.

MIDWIFE ANTENATAL CARE

Shared care arrangements with the Doctor and Midwife are made for expectant Mothers (& Fathers)

MINOR SURGERY

We have well-equipped treatment rooms at Mullion & Constantine where we perform a variety of minor surgical operations and tests. Your Doctor can discuss this with you.
